They could do worse, but conferences aren't going to add teams that don't
pass muster economically. the current Big 12 situation makes that abundantly clear.
if ND says they want Navy, then ND will carry enough economic weight by themselves to bring in Navy, or really anyone they want.
If Texas wants in (and for the record, I don't like them at all), they probably carry enough weight to dictate a partner.
so, would WVU make more money for the ACC than UConn? In football, UConn is nothing noteworthy but they are a basketball powerhouse and if they drive sub rates up for more people (the UConn WBB program would be very good ACCN content) than than WVU, then maybe they are the more profitable add.
As Stech said, think academic fundraising ($$$) and paying eyeballs ($$$).
